Up Front Scenario JHJ/A108: Sudden Death Adapted from ASL Scenario A108 (ASL Annual '97) Orneset Beachhead, Norway, 27 May 1940 French Attacker: 3, 4, 6-12, 21, DC Reinforcements: 2, 13, 15-17 German Defender: 3, 5, 6 (7/7), 7-10, 23, 24 Attacker Sets Up and Plays First. Number of Decks: 4 Remove the first five Buildings cards to be discarded unused or as a RPC/RNC draw. Special Rules: A.1 The reinforcements are eligible to enter anytime after one deck of Action cards has been used. A.2 The defending player receives the Pillbox card prior to setup in addition to his normal hand and places it on his Group B. The defender's other groups may begin entrenched and are not subject to initial terrain placement by the attacker. All defending groups which have not moved are treated as if on Hills except that they do not get the -1 Hill TEM against incoming fire. Individiual Transfers to/from the Pillbox are not subject to a +2 modifier to incoming fire attacks due to the trenches employed. A.3 The Minefield card is treated as a Cower card. Due to the twilight conditions, fire attacks (except DC) are at -3 FS at RR0, -2 FS at RR1 and -1 FS at all other ranges; infiltration attempts have a one-column shift to the left. A.4 The attackers are Elite Troops. All of the attackers also have their Panic values increased by 1. The attacker treats all Concealment cards as Concealed -1s during the first two decks. A.5 The defenders are 2nd-Line Troops. Once per game, the defender may treat the 7/7 personality as if a Hero card had just been played for him. Victory Conditions: The first player to have at least 5 more Victory Points due to enemy KIAs and Routs that the other player wins immediately. The attacking player wins at the end of the time limit if he has more KIA/Rout victory points than the defender; control of the Pillbox counts as 2 VPs toward this total.
